[There's a bit of a clatter when the video turns on, and the view is a bit skewed; a sideways shot of the very same house all non-Rockets wake up in. A pair of black and red boots can be seen pacing back and forth, their owner reaching down and grabbing a few other things that had spilled from their bag, along with the 'gear.]

Miss, I don't-- [The owner of the fear - a young girl it seems - halts as "Mom" continues to drone on with her usual spiel, a slight whine in her voice as she impatiently bounces on the balls of her feet.]

Miss, I really don't think you-- I mean, I really appreciate this, I guess!! But you're not really... [Sigh. She's not really listening is she? Guess she has no choice...]

[The words rush out all in one breath, and with a flurry of footsteps, the girl is gone.

Luckily, a moment later a Houndour appears, grabbing the device in its mouth and running off. The camera jostles around a bit but stops soon enough, with the girl - dressed all in red and black, wrapped in a hooded red cape, and black hair cut short - finally in full view.]

What- yikes!

[She jumps back, shock on her face and a small bit of fear in her eyes. After a moment, though, she leans a little closer.]

You... you're not a Grimm, are you?

[A muffled bark comes from the Houndour holding the gear, and it's only then that the girl notices the device and quickly grabs it. After giving it a quick once-over to determine what exactly it is, she turns it in what she hopes is the right direction...!]

Uh... mayday, mayday! SOS! Some other distress call! .... Help? Geez, I don't know what I should be saying here...

[FOCUS. Okay. Breathe in, breathe out.]

T-This is Ruby Rose, leader of Team RWBY, and I have no idea where I am! This, uh... this isn't Vale, is it?

[As her adrenaline starts to fade, Ruby's shoulders slump.]

I... I gotta get back. Like, right now! There are a whole lot of people that need help...

One of my friends who went home a few months ago had been here before I met him. He said he'd been here a few months before being sent back home initially. It was like nothing changed. Time had stopped where he had been. Unfortunately, he had no memory of this place until he returned. So there is always a catch. My friend Vanille had been the same.

... Oh.

[Well, that... hm. Ruby can't say she's too upset at hearing that; she's really glad that the whole weird time thing is true, and that's what matters most to her right now. But losing memories like that... it sounds more than a bit awful.]

I'm sorry your friends went through that.

No, he didn't mind it in the end. I know he's happier to be home, even if he doesn't remember anyone from here.

[Like Vanille, if they ever returned, there might be a chance they would still have the memories of their time here.]

Then there's those like myself. According to quite a few people here, I had been here before. I even had someone refer to me as their commander. I had never been here before, but another me from a different time and world was here for a few years.

[That gets her to perk up a bit.]

Oh, so you're with the military! Are you from Atlas?

No on both of those. Former military. Never heard of a place called Atlas.

[The highest rank she ever attained is Sergeant anyways.]

[Her shoulders slump a bit. She's really starting to give up on ever finding more people from her world, aside from Weiss and Penny...]

But... that's still neat!! I've always admired the Huntsmen and Huntresses in my world, but the military is still pretty cool too!

[Even if her uncle didn't like them. Weiss's sister was part of the military, and it was the military that gave Ruby one of her dearest friends! She can't... think of them as completely awful...]

[The military can be pretty bad. Try having them hunt you down. No need to ruin a little girls dreams though.]

The military can teach you a lot of things if you don't mind being ordered around and being treated like dirt your first few years in it. If you're lucky, you get your own personal weapon only you use.

Psh, I don't need them to give me a weapon! [Ruby puffs up a bit, pride clear in her voice.] I made my own!

When you start, you're a grunt. Bottom of the ladder. You need to work your way up before anyone shows you any respect.

I made Crescent Rose to fight Grimm. I don't wanna make something that can be used to fight other people.

Hey, I became a soldier in a time where the only thing we had to do is fight monsters. It's... still like that, even if I'm not a soldier.

[Wars are over in her world unless you count the people going against her.]

Well... things back home are getting kind of crazy. If I made weapons for people, I can't be sure if they'd be used on other people or not.

[Humans versus the White Fang, plus whoever it is Mercury and Emerald are working with...

But no. She's not gunna think about that now. She'll just focus on the other thing!]

[For a kid to think of things like that, Light does have to give her some credit. That type of thinking would probably get this girl killed in Nova Chrysalia.]

I have more than one. [Wait...] Right now I just use whatever weapon I have on hand. Blades, staves, pikes, and the likes.

Whoa, so you can use lots of different weapons? That's pretty neat! I only really know how to use a scythe... but I've tried out swords a little, too!

Being good with one weapon isn't a bad thing as long as you're damn good with it.

I like to think I am!! Definitely not as good as my uncle Qrow, but... I don't think anyone's as good with a scythe as he is!! He's the one that taught me everything I know, after all.

Uh-huh! He's super cool and he's one of the best Hunstmen out there!! WHen he and mom and dad were in school, their team was one of the best ever!
